From building to guiding

I'm Shyanta Vleugel. My career has grown from development into technical leadership. Staying curious and having room to explore have been a big part of that journey.

The journey so far

My career

September 2024 to now: Tech Lead, Hypersolid

I shape solutions, give technical direction and support the developers in my team, mostly on streaming platforms for clients in media. Hypersolid made a short video portrait about my work: People of Hypersolid.

July 2018 to September 2024: Frontend Web Developer, Triple, now Hypersolid

I started on client projects, including work for Talpa, and grew into web lead for NLZIET. From there my work moved to the big screen: Chromecast, Smart TV apps and the video player.

February to June 2018: Frontend Development Intern, Triple

My graduation internship, researching progressive web apps.

September 2017 to February 2018: Frontend Developer Intern, BeastAgency

May 2016 to September 2017: Frontend Developer, Tunico

I started with a frontend development internship and stayed on as a frontend developer.

Technology and collaboration

What I bring

Web development

My technical foundation. I help developers think through how web applications are structured and how they work.

Chromecast and Smart TV

Experience developing for the big screen and working through the challenges that come with different devices.

Technical guidance

Exploring solutions, discussing technical decisions and bringing structure to the work.

Mentoring and sharing knowledge

Helping developers and students move forward, with room for questions and independent discovery.

My stack

Tools I work with

Languages and frameworks

TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS, Tailwind, React, Svelte and SvelteKit, Angular and Node.js.

Platforms and streaming

Chromecast, Smart TV (Tizen and webOS), video players and streaming with HLS and DASH, and progressive web apps.

Content and cloud

Sanity and Prepr as headless CMSs, AWS, Azure, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

How I work

Accessibility (WCAG), REST and GraphQL, architecture, Vite, Storybook, Git, Figma, Scrum, and AI-assisted development with Cursor and OpenSpec.

Sharing knowledge

Growing together

I get energy from shaping solutions and seeing others grow. For me, making a plan also means working out together how someone can take their next step.

I like to talk things through and offer support without filling in all the answers. Giving people room to discover things for themselves matters just as much when I work with students.

Supporting participants working on laptops during a learning session.

A little more about me

Beyond work

You'll find me on the ice, on a tennis or padel court, or out for a run. I love hanging out with friends, I'm a big reader and a big fan of LPs, so there's usually a record playing. At home I'm crafting, building Lego, puzzling or working in the garden.

Education and certifications

Always learning

Alongside my work, I keep broadening my knowledge.

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Amazon Web Services, June 2026
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), March 2024
  • Professional Scrum Master I, Scrum.org, April 2023
  • Bachelor of Science, Communication and Multimedia Design, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, 2014 to 2018
